Three Byzantine paterae – Campo San Daniel

Description

Three Byzantine paterae of Greek marble, dimensions 25 cm.

  1. Upper patera show two hares or rabbits back to back, and face to face.
  2. Below to the right, an eagle grabs a fish by the tail.
  3. Below to the left, an eagle on top of another bird, picking at its head.

They appear together with Cross – Campo San Daniel.

The paterae are just inside the gate of a military barracks, but it can be seen through the gate.
